Players are being forced to change their strategies to achieve the same desired result. Prehaps if they added some new content that would actually make the new found challenge to some players worth their time there wouldn't be all of these complaints. Should the reward not fit the challenge?

The veterans will get by fine, the majority of players (and I'm fairly confident I can say this) who rely on the same holy trinity of characters are just getting fed up and quitting. Now the fact that groups need to be so well coordinated that a lot of newer players probably won't get to play because they can't understand this new and advance strategy. Sounds a lot like tombs with the elitists and their rank. Basically if you want to nuke, you need to snare. You want to tank, you can't bring AoEs; unless you bring snares.

Sprint is a PvP skill... NOT a pve skill. The one thing I loathe about PvP is having to chase after enemies and the whole kiting concept.

what do you need money for? nothing in this game costs money....I farm because it wastes time...more often than not I leave everything the mob dropped on the ground because it wouldn't benefit me to pick it up...there's really no reason to be out there farming for gold...it's not going to get you anything in this game.

yeaitsjim....Generally it needs to have a solid plotline(which GW lacks) an in depth leveling system(which GW doesn't require) and some form of character depth development(which GW doesn't have)...The ability to select a character at the start screen and then collect items doesn't make a game an RPG

PvE is easy, I admit that. But what kind of bs is it when you are outnumbered 20 to 8 by lvl 24 mobs, and they simply dodge your aoe skills now.
And Ive also noticed something that, while not pissing me off, frustrated me somewhat. The mobs now CAMP the corpses, so when your monk runs off and returns to try to res you, you see a huge mass of red blips charging the area they just cleaned out. Im not mistaken either, Ive tried ressing some henchies when I did this and everytime I tried it, they came running back. So now they can see you outside of the aggro circle, gg.

Maybe not, but we enjoyed it nonetheless

Honestly people, PvE was easy as shit. If you guys can't survive now that they move out of your precious AoE spells, or that it's harder to farm since things won't follow you now, BOO RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING HOO. Maybe they decided to, you know, make it somewhat challenging. If you can't work your way around this simple little update, you've not skill, or even a general knowledge of how to play the game. Find something else! Make a new build! Make 10 new builds!

Seriously peoples. It's not about how wicked 1337 you are because you're rich and farm like crazy, it's about playing the game and having fun. It's not like they nerfed any farming spots, they just nerfed the talentless ways to go about it.

Cheers.
I'm not 1337. I don't own any 15K armor, or FOW. I've never been to the FOW, and only once to the UW. I have not even finished the game.

So your analysis of people being elitest farmers who dislike this update is false. We are just normal people like you or anyone else who like the game as it was. Why is that so bad in your sight?

Well, after a night of trying different things, all types of AoE spells are out of my bar.

And will stay out.

Chaos Storm, we all know that doesnt work, but the things that also dont work are some of the crappier ones to get smashed.

Things like Energy Surge and Shatter Hex still do their damage. But once the damage is done, the Fleeing triggers and ruins it for the rest of the group. So they are now just a pain to use.

Same goes for Chain Lightning. You can use it, but they run.

I would call that poor programming, or a bug (which is poor programming by another name). If you see this, report it.

Everyone needs to relax, take a deep breath. Play a little, and see if there is a new tactic using the same skills.

Although, I just realized, in PvE, maybe I should bring earthshaker rather than devestating hammer. Get a good knockdown, and let someone bring on the pain. Man, I think this could help change team builds in PvE and make new builds play more.

Agreed, farming is all about the fun, but how do you think we feel when we are basically told that solo play is not welcome, there are players that do nothing else besides trade, what if anet said no more trading? I am not bitter or disappointed, I enjoyed my GW stay very much, but I think us solo players finally have to admit that we are not welcome and move on

You'd think that the people that post on this forum would be in the higher percentage of skilled players because of the sharing of knowledge, but it seems to not be so.

People... a team is not a group of individuals doing their own thing, it's a group of people working together to achieve a common goal. Now groups will need to plan before going into a mission.

Fire nuking is not gone. AoE is not gone. Bring some snares.

sadly guy, very sadly, I tend to agree with you...we put up with so called "nerfs" all the time, and it just kills me cause its like...why bother. why make a new build, why spend countless time acuiring the items to effectivly be something else...and then only to have that changed as well... its just sad really to me. its like why bother? why continue to go on when anyone of my characters may be changed completely the next day and the last 20+ hours of gameplay....thrown out the window. Remember the Hershey commercial, with the baseball kids. change is not always the best way. to imagine if the country were like guild wars seems to be - we might be communist tommorow (no offense just a joke btw)

I think the update is aimed at solo farming, they have just screwed up fire magic though, and lets face it ele's main strength is AOE as their armour lvl is low. How would a mes feel if their interupts were taken away. I play Monk most of the time so it really doesn't effect me directly, But I know a fair few people who have ele's and are annoyed by it. Don't bother flaming me for this post this is just my opinion, if you disagree fair enough.

End Solo farm, easy no one man enters areas, problem solved

Perfect solution, no more beating around the bush of solo players, I like it...no sarcasm btw

It's a multiplayer online game. Why buy it if you want to solo?

Arguments aside, I know plenty of solo monks still happily solo-ing. Yes, it takes longer, but so what? If all you want to do is solo, what difference does "time" make?

And how exactly is not being able to have any level of control over a battle when the enemies keep running in and coming back like a bloody drunken boomerang?

Personally, I had fun playing a tank taking the damage for the team and playing my part. I have fun as a monk keeping my team alive and kicking. I have fun as a mes keeping casters at bay and shutting down monks.
Running into a disorganised brawl where enemies constantly scatter and come back to random aggro is not fun in any sense. Granted it's comical compared to what we all once knew, but do you really want the whole game like that?

I've yet to see anyone supporting this patch argue against how quests such as UW are to be done now without VERY specific builds and tactics. I can see how hardcore players will like it, however it alienates the rest of the casual players, which make up a much higher number, who just like playing the PvE game the way it was. If you think PvE is boring then go play some unorganised PvP and enjoy the chaos.

PvE doesn't and will not work like PvP does. If a tank slips through the net or dodges AoE in PvP, so what. But if 3 bladed Aatxes ignore your tank and run for your team, you've got no chance.
It's not fair game and it doesn't balance. When I'm level 29 and can take more than 2 hits from one of those bastards, THEN I won't care if they dodge AoE, break aggro, or eat my bloody porridge.
